His graduation project was to design an accessible and desirable shower system for the Korean market. Clover is a multifunctional shower designed for older people and children, who would like a comfortable and safe shower while sitting down.

Graduation project Leonie van Andel third prize at Bosch world convention

The Skil guide-rail designed by Leonie van Andel in 2009 for her graduation project has not only been taken into production but now also has won a prize! Leonie graduated 3 years ago with honor (Alex Visser and Erik Tempelman were her tutors).

TU Delft 'Bootweek' students win 1st and 2nd price of Water Movie Challenge

A stop motion of the journey of a drinking water drop created by Rick Blokdijk, Miquel Ballester, Andries van Wijhe and Daniel Arenas from Delft University of Technology was the winner of the Water Movie Challenge.

Alumnus second for the KIVI Niria Spyker (Dutch Association of Engineers) award

Pim Spiekermann became second with honorable mention for the KIVI Niria Spyker award, an award for the best graduate in the field of vehicle technology. Spiekermann graduated cum laude at Rijkswaterstaat this year on a feasibility study into Augmented Reality for in-car application.

Paul Mijksenaar wins Life Time Achievement Award for design

Paul Mijksenaar has been awarded the Life Time Achievement Award for design by Fonds BKVB (The Netherlands Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture). Mijksenaar is a designer of visual information. Besides his work as a designer, Mijksenaar was a professor at our faculty for many years.

Peter Vink wins Hal Hendrick Distinguished International Colleague Award
21 September 2011The Hal Hendrick Distinguished International Colleague Award recognises a non-U.S. citizen who has made outstanding contributions to the human factors/ergonomics field. Professor Peter Vink received his award on 21 September during the HFES meeting in Las Vegas.

Babybloom incubator wins prestigious Red Dot Design Award
16 March 2011Even before the Babybloom Incubator is taken into production, the design has won the Red Dot Design Award. The jury rewarded the BabyBloom incubator with the ''Best of the Best'' prize. The Babybloom was a graduation project of IDE student Heleen Willemsen.

Two (ex) DUT employees win best paper award

During a session by PhD Elsbeth de Korte for the HCI conference, ex DUT employee Michel Varkevisser and prof.dr. David Keyson together with some others, won the best paper award in the Ergonomics & Health aspects of computers section.

TU Delft team wins African Bicycle Design Contest

The African Bicycle Design Contest organised by Cycling Out of Poverty is won by the TU Delft team with three IDE students. The job was to develop a concept and business plan for an affordable and sustainable bicycle design for Africa, ready to be manufactured locally.

IDE students win the Health Innovation Award
21 March 2011On 15 March, a student team from the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering has won the Health Innovation Award, in the final of the Health Battle, which took place in Nijmegen during the Health Valley Event. The students are Otmar Klaas, Tommy Martens, Steffan Wolswinkel, David Epema and Ruben Rosenbrand.

NightBalance wins the NGI Venture Challenge Fall 2010
14 December 2010Start-up company NightBalance is the winner of the Venture Challenge Fall 2010, as announced during the Dutch Life Sciences & Health conference in Amsterdam on 8 December 2010. The winners also recieve €25.000. NightBalance is part of Yes!Delft, the entrepreneurs centre of the TU Delft.

Delft students win Climate Change Challenge
08 July 2010A team of five Industrial Design Engineering students have won the Living Climate Change Video Challenge. In the video, the students show how measures to combat climate change may have changed our life in 20 or 30 years from now. The prize was US$3,000 and a workshop by the international design and innovation business IDEO.

Winners of HEMA design competition 2010
02 June 2010Two Industrial Design Engineering students are among the winners of the 23rd edition of the HEMA design competition. Annet Bruil won third prize with her "Sap op stap" (juice on the go), and Marit Coehoorn received an honourable mention for her "Verzendprent" (picture postcard). Floor-Jan van Schaik is nominated for the public prize.
